Something Borrowed

Mid Wales Food and Land Trust, the new owners of the Market Hall, have been awarded a 99 year lease by Powys County Council.

New Vision.

Mid Wales Food and Land Trust, the new owners of the Market Hall, have been awarded a 99 year lease by Powys County Council. After several years of fundraising the Trust have raised over £1million of project funding from the  Heritage Lottery Fund, the BIG Lottery and the Welsh Government Communities Facility and Activities Programme. The Trust is a not for profit company limited by guarantee, which was established in 2004, by local people, working for local community benefit.

The Trust has led on many community projects and initiatives in the local food and commercial development sectors and The Newtown Market Hall Project, hopefully a catalyst to support the regeneration of Newtown  is by far the most exciting and ambitious.

The brand Glanhafren was created to reflect the link between the Market Hall, the River Severn and its surrounding agricultural land. The logo was inspired by the wrought ironwork in the Market Hall, Glanhafren meaning the banks of the Severn.
